I am having problems keeping this up. I did attend the Sioux Falls Regional Livestock Horse Auction and will post prices there. I bought a donkey and tried to buy a horse aftwards but it was a no go. Poor sweet mare. I know where she was headed after I found out the buyer. I'm sure he was filling his quota. Made me sick. Had to get out of the building before I started crying.
I can't report tonight either but will hopefully get a list of the horses at risk starting tomorrow and possibly back dating.

Blogger hates me tonight. I had both Iowa and Minnesota completely done and it totally crapped out on me.

He will one hand neck rein with emphisized leg cues. Taken to state parks all over MN. He's UTD on shots, no coggins. He's just not getting used enough and with winter coming around the corner, and my husband not sure how much riding he'll be putting in, we are offering him up for sale. He's a 7 year old gelding 14-14.1 hands, yet well built, can easily carry a 250+lb rider as long as they aren't too tall. Since we've had him, we've noticed he gets nervous around the farm equipment and cattle. He'll need to be desensitized around cattle and equipment more. Beautiful, registered Saddlebred mare named Lakewood Symphony- chestnut color with a small patch of white on her belly, full white blaze on her forehead and four white socks. She was born in 1991 - she is 18 years old. She stands over 16 hands high. Her ground manners are a bit intimidating, she can be pushy - however once in the saddle she is a different horse. She moves out very nicely and is very smooth and a pleasure to ride. I have ridden her both western and english (hunt seat and saddle seat). She is up to date on all her shots - we give all of our horses about 7 vaccines and she is up to date with her worming schedule. She had a negative Coggins last summer, I didn't show her this summer at our local shows - so she didn't need one this year. This past winter, I noticed a bit of swelling in her knee, after having X-rays done it was determined she had a bit of a bone spur and decreased cartilage that was irritating her at a canter and causing the swelling. Because of the extra weight she was placing on her other leg while healing from the swollen knee; she developed an abscess in her front hoof at the beginning of spring that left a crack on the front of her hoof that is now half grown out. It has not had any long term effect on her soundness. She wears regular shoes on her front hoofs to prevent cracking because I ride her on gravel and on rocky trails. Keeping her at a walk-trot she has no troubles. Symphony has been a wonderful horse that introduced me to the love of saddle seat riding and gaited horses. I love her smooth gaits and her versatility from english to western riding, from around our farm to trail parks with hills and water crossings. I just had her out on a county park trail riding last weekend - she's got great endurance and never gets tired. She gets a bit nervous in the trailer but loads fairly well. I am spending far more time at the stable I ride with showing than at my own farm with my horses retired from showing and realize the lack of attention and use is starting to show. She can be such a good horse when she has more attention given to her - I wish for her a good home with someone that will also fall in love with her amazing gait and the beauty that only a Saddlebred carries. Doctor JB Mac aka Mac is a quiet young GREEN broke sorrel gelding. He has had many hrs standing tied. He is good at loading, has had his feet done 3 times, UTD on shots, and worming. I have had the saddle on a few times, been on and rode him 3 times. Rode in a round pen at a walk, trot and back up. Has been rode bareback all three times. Has been led down the greavel road, rode up and down our ditch, and farm. He is easy to catch, very loving! My 3 yr old nephew has been around him many times and he is quiet and gentle. He is already growing out, so would be a big beautiful gelding. He did however get a big cut on his right rear leg, it has been taking care of and is healing up wonderfully, just will be a scar. This is the horse that my daughter hoped to start on when she moved up from the ponies she has been around since she was very small. He was ridden by a trainer for 30+ days and came back quiet and easy to ride. No buck and fairly calm and collected. A little bit head strong. Unfortunately, as he has been home for a few months, without daily work, his ground manners have not stayed good enough for our "shorter" 11 year old "inexperienced HORSE woman" to handle from the ground. I believe that any experienced horse family could get him on the right track within a short amount of time. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to help my daughter with him and her confidence is dwindling trying to manage him from the ground. She has no problem riding him, but getting him to that point on her own is the problem. "Sterling" is an older pony gelding. Probably 10 years old or so, we did not raise him, so we cannot guarantee the age, but he's a good guy who needs a great home! He did great on the pony rides, but is a shy boy, who doesn't fare well with our large group of gelding ponies. Not only does he have a hard time getting his fair share at feeding time, but he gets into fights with the other "boys" in the trailer on the way to rides. He does well with the mares or by himself, doesn't start fights, but gets "picked on" A LOT! He would be a perfect gentleman for someone to lead kids on, or for a stronger medium-sized kid to ride by themselves. Unlike most of the ponies we have for sale, we think he may have been ridden out before we had him. Unfortunately, as he has been home for a few months, without daily work, his ground manners have not stayed good enough for our "shorter" 11 year old "inexperienced HORSE woman" to handle from the ground. She has no problem riding him, but getting him to that point on her own is the problem. "Sterling" is an older pony gelding. Probably 10 years old or so, we did not raise him, so we cannot guarantee the age, but he's a good guy who needs a great home! He did great on the pony rides, but is a shy boy, who doesn't fare well with our large group of gelding ponies. Not only does he have a hard time getting his fair share at feeding time, but he gets into fights with the other "boys" in the trailer on the way to rides. He does well with the mares or by himself, doesn't start fights, but gets "picked on" A LOT! He would be a perfect gentleman for someone to lead kids on, or for a stronger medium-sized kid to ride by themselves. Unlike most of the ponies we have for sale, we think he may have been ridden out before we had him. I have a yearling filly that is very well put together. She is very flashy with a beautiful refined head, she is red-roan with LOTS of white. High socks, full blaze that had a brown spot inside her blaze, very unique. She is very well behaved, leads, ties, clips (loves to be clipped), bathes (love baths), I trim her feet, she de-worms/shots. Very well minded pony and she's very willing unlike most ponies. Would make a great project for a 4h-er. I also have a weanling colt. He is also very well put together, he is bay dun with an upside down heart on his forehead, and a hind sock. Very cute! Unfornately I must sell my love !! Boo is a very well mannered gelding ,, very funny personality , hes my baby but due to certain circumstances I am having to sell. About BOO born 2001 15.2 H Tricolored Paint 3 years ago Boo stepped on a nail went to Stillwater vet clinic and came out very well he does have a limp every so often but the Vet says hes good enough for riding just no gaming etc. We ride him now and we dont have any trouble with him he is in need of his hooves trimmed at the moment up to date on all vacs Except coggins . Boo does great with his feet , you can crawl under him slide down his butt , stands while mounting ,, stands well for grooming his only fault at the moment is he has something called Ear Plaque which is easily fixed which caues him to be a little headshy I am just in a financial bind due to my mother and I having cancer I REALLY REALLY want Boo to go to a good home . Jeffery is an excellent 7 year old welsh pony with a great build at 13 hands. She has had miles of riding trails including overnights. Jeffery has been started at driving and has been doing great. She does not spook and is traffic safe. Jeffery is steady with her feet; she can walk down a cement beam 15” wide. Her hoofs are good a solid. She lifts her feet with a verbal command and stands for farrier. Loads with ease. She is current on her shots and has a negative coggins. Jeffery has a great personality and will be missed. Leads and ties well, loads like a dream neck reins. Stands still no matter what the kids do to her. She has been used for trail riding ( Zumbro, Hinkley and around the farm) No problems with water, hills or ditches. She has been trained to follow and not lead but will with an adult or experanced rider. We have not been riding for a while and would recomend a few hours of riding by an adult to refresh her skills. GS Andrews Tigress or "Dixie" is a great little horse. Dixie is 3 years old and is a strawberry roan snowcap registered Appaloosa. She stands around 14.2 hands and should grow a littly more. She has great comformation and breeding. She is not broke, but I have sat on her with halter and lead rope and walked around a bit, she did wonderful! She will be pretty easy to break. Dixie is a 100% guarnteed color producer, she would make a great mare for breeding! Dixie is UTD on shots and will be getting her hooves done soon. I hate to see her go, but I just bought another mare to start on barrels, leaving me with no time to work with Dixie, My new mare also bullys Dixie around and I dont want that, so she needs to go. Dixe is going to make one heck of a barrel horse someday, she is the shortest horse in my pasture, but the fastest, she kicks my two big barrel horses butts! She absalutly LOVES to run.
